The 16th Valuation AVA Congress with the theme “ASEAN chapter – toward a new Era of Valuation Development has just taken place in Bangkok. This was a great success as members raised the issue regarding valuation standard and valuers’ rules of conduct.
The Congress which organised every two years on rotating basis among the members is also the platform where members can share their experiences, views, networking and information regarding valuation profession. International Valuation Standards clearly set out the guidelines for valuers and the section about their responsibility and the rules of conduct is being considered to be included in the ASEAN valuation standard.
In this 16th Valuation AVA Congress, Vietnam has 2 speakers invited to the congress as a part of Vietnamese delegation: Mr. Leon Cheneval from Savills Vietnam (Hanoi) and Ms. Tran Thi Muoi from Ho Chi Minh City.
At the Congress, Mr. Leon Cheneval – National Director, Banking and Corporate Services at Savills presented the paper on the topic “Mortgage lending and its relationship with Property Valuation”. His presentation is a discussion on valuer’s role in the lending process as great assistants in determining accurate market value and market information. The relationship between valuers and financial institutions should be strengthening by mutual cooperation and trust.
