Steel price climbs to VND15 million a tonne
The southern branch of the Vietnam Steel Corporation (VNSteel) has raised its steel prices by VND200,000 - VND300,000 a tonne from August 23, which are hovering somewhere between VND14.98 million - VND15.2 million a tonne.
In addition, the Pomina Steel Mill (Pomina) has also upped its prices by VND330,000 to VND14.7 million a tonne.
Steel prices rose at least three or four times in August due to the higher cost of imported input materials, say steel manufacturers.
