Creating a home sanctuary that allows an easy flow of positive energy in your hotel room is not as difficult as one might think.

Absolutely, Feng Shui principles can create that sanctuary for a relaxing time away that you have been looking forward to.

Most hotel rooms have bright airy windows that let the sun filter in. Large mirrors over a dresser to reflect the sun light making the room appear to larger than it is. This is wonderful if you want to stay awake for your entire holiday. Hotels try and make each room as comfortable as they can without knowing whom they are catering to on any particular day.

When you first arrive:

* If your room has any odors at all, request another room. Visual things can be changed for a short time but odors will remain.

* Open all the windows to promote the exchange of air. This will remove anything negative left behind by a previous occupant.

* Put a couple of small pictures on the night stand of those who are not on holiday with you. This keeps the energy connection with loved ones present.

* Take a hot shower to allow the hot water to flow good chi - using a lavender soap as well can chase any built up stress of tension gathered during your trip.

While you are staying:

* Be sure to keep the bathroom door closed at all times to allow the flow of energy not to get stuck in the bathroom.

* Large mirrors actually create Yang energy when it is reflecting the sun's rays. Pull the shades in the room and keep them closed during the day while you are away. Covering a large mirror with a pretty scarf draped across it will also keep the Yang energy to a minimum. Scarf's can be placed over the TV at night or over any sharp corners that protrude out as you look at them.

* Bringing your own scented candles and burning them while you are in the room can induce calmness and serenity through aroma therapy.

* Place your clothes in the closet or dresser draws. Don't live out of the suit case. If you normally play music at home, bring the CD with you. Having a familiar background noise can allow you to feel at "home".

* Bring herbal tea with you. Most hotels offer a coffee pot, you can use this to heat water and settle each night with a cup of hot tea. While curled up with your tea, take a few moments to savor the sights, sounds, and tastes of the day.

These simple tips can make your holiday magical.
