The bathroom is an indispensable room for your house. Sometimes, you feel it small, cramped, and uncomfortable. With a few tips and tricks you can make it look and feel larger in just one weekend.

1. Select color

Pale and soft colors give the feel of openness and the illusion of more space. Using neutrals and whites for background color make the space seem bigger. Cool colors give the feel of serenity.

2. Brighten the room

Using wall sconces can add more lighting to your bathroom. The more light the better (not only for putting on make-up ladies) also for making the space feel and look larger. You could even add a small table lamp to your vanity if you have the available space.

3. Use mirrors

Put large mirrors wherever you can. Mirrors make a space seem much larger. If you could do half of a wall in mirrors you could make your bathroom seem much larger.

4. Use light colored flooring

Choose a light colored flooring if you can change the flooring. If you cannot change your flooring right now, you could use a large light colored rug to cover as much of the floor as possible.

5. Cut back

Get rid of anything that is large and sticks out into the space. This can make the space feel smaller. Also get rid of any small accessories, clutter makes a space feel even smaller. Clean lines is what you want in the space.

6. Expand the ceiling

You can create an illusion of a raise ceiling by adding a crown molding around the top of the walls. Paint the crown molding the same color as the ceiling. This adds depth and a larger feel.
